Sikh activists on Monday protested outside the Delhi Subordinate Services Selection Board (DSSSB) office here against the DSSSB chairman and Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal.
They were against the board’s decision of preventing Sikh candidates from wearing ‘kirpan’ and ‘kara’ in the examination.
The activists were led by DSGMC president Manjinder Singh Sirsa and general secretary Harmeet Singh Kalka.
In a major step on Wednesday, the Jammu and Kashmir government downgraded and withdrew the security of 18 Hurriyat leaders in the state.
The couple was identified as Sreenivas Nakirekanti, 51, and his wife, Shanti Nakirekanti, 46 and the incident took place at Pendergrass Trail on Monday, KPRC-TV station reported.
The woman was shifted to the government hospital in Dera Baba Nanak town, 275 km from here. "She is being questioned," a police official said.
It will be published by HarperCollins India on April 12. The publisher said that Singh was 22 years old at that time.
