South African returnee tests Covid positive in Chandigarh

Chandigarh, Nov 29 (IANS) A 39-year-old South Africa returnee was retested on Monday and turned out to be positive for Covid-19, the Chandigarh administration said.
One of his family members and domestic help were also tested positive for the virus.
As per protocol, the positive cases are being shifted to an institutional quarantine facility.
The samples of the positive cases will be sent for whole genome sequencing to the NCDC, Delhi, to ascertain the variant or variant of concern, if any, an official statement said.
"A 39-year-old male resident of Sector 36 had returned from South Africa on November 21. He was RT-PCR negative on his arrival at the airport. He was quarantined at home on his arrival in Chandigarh," it added.
Suspicion has now arisen over three more deaths linked to Jolly, the woman who is the prime suspect in six mysterious deaths in her family, and who is currently in judicial custody even as reports have surfaced that she was also planning to eliminate two children.
Naveen Dalal, along with another man, had allegedly attacked Umar Khalid at the Constitution Club in Delhi on August 13 last year. At the time, the two men had told the police that they had planned to disrupt the event that was being held at the Constitution Club.
The Mumbai Congress leader, who has lately been at loggerheads with the party leadership, claimed that Mallikarjun Kharge does not care for the country's religious traditions because he is an "atheist".
