Former deputy chief minister Sukhbir Singh Badal on Friday said the Congress government was backtracking on its poll promises, including waiver of farm loans and cheap meals.        
 
               
Talking to the media, Sukhbir said he was surprised that instead of providing grants for development the government was taking back the grants issued to the local bodies.
 
The SAD president asked the party leaders to forge unity among the cadres.
