Trains To Have Additional Stoppage At Patna Sahib In View Of Guru Gobind Singh's Birthday

    Thirty-four important long distance trains will stop at the Patna Sahib railway station for an additional two minutes from Saturday in view of the birth anniversary of Guru Gobind Singh.

     

    In a press release issued here, the Eastern Railway said, “For the benefit of a large number of devotees who will congregate at Patna Sahib on the occasion of 352nd birth anniversary of Guru Gobind Singh, additional stoppage of 34 important long distance trains for two minutes will be provided at Patna Sahib station from January 5 to January 19.”


    “Important trains, including Poorva Express, Vibhuty Express, Ananya Express, Kumbha Express, Doon Express and others will stop for two minutes at Patna Sahib station on both up and down directions during the period,” the press release added.


    Guru Gobind Singh was born in Patna in 1666. He also spent his early years in Patna before moving to Anandpur.


    The Takht Sri Patna Sahib, a gurdwara at the neighbourhood of Patna Sahib located in Patna city, was built by Maharaja Ranjit Sing to commemorate the birthplace of the tenth Guru.
