Twelve dead in bus-trolley collision in Rajasthan's Barmer

Jaipur, Nov 10 (IANS) At least 12 persons were burnt to death and 40 others injured when a bus they were travelling in caught fire after colliding with a trolley at the Jodhpur National Highway in Rajasthan's Barmer district on Wednesday, police said.
According to police, the injured were rushed to a government hospital, which referred 13 victims to Jodhpur hospital as their condition was critical.
Fire brigades from Pachpadra, Balotra, and Barmer refinery were pressed into service to douse the flames.
As per an eyewitness, the trolley was coming from the wrong side and rammed into the bus leading to the tragedy.
The number of deaths are likely to go up as some of the victims are stated to be very critical, police said.
According to ADR, 45 Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) legislators of the 62, and seven of the eight Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MLAs had declared more than Rs 1 crore assets while filing their nomination papers.
The 51-year-old bureaucrat-turned-politician almost replicated the AAP’s fairy-tale victory of 2015 by riding on his government’s development agenda, and in the process emerged as a key leader in the national political landscape.
A total of 44,951 pilgrims travelled from November 9, 2019 to January 31, 2020 via Kartarpur corridor to pay obeisance at Sri Kartarpur Sahib, central government said in a written reply to a question.
