Twelve dead in bus-trolley collision in Rajasthan's Barmer

Jaipur, Nov 10 (IANS) At least 12 persons were burnt to death and 40 others injured when a bus they were travelling in caught fire after colliding with a trolley at the Jodhpur National Highway in Rajasthan's Barmer district on Wednesday, police said.
According to police, the injured were rushed to a government hospital, which referred 13 victims to Jodhpur hospital as their condition was critical.
Fire brigades from Pachpadra, Balotra, and Barmer refinery were pressed into service to douse the flames.
As per an eyewitness, the trolley was coming from the wrong side and rammed into the bus leading to the tragedy.
The number of deaths are likely to go up as some of the victims are stated to be very critical, police said.

The woman, along with her accomplices, had fled with a bundle of notes after offering to exchange notes of lower denomination with that of higher denomination, they said.
According to police, the victim Mohammed Hanif Siddhiqui had handed the old banknote to a vendor while purchasing vegetables from him outside Dadar (West) railway station on Monday night.
The woman approached the SP after the local police recently closed her complaint as her daughter during an inquiry told them she had embraced Christianity on her own volition.
The visas issued by the High Commission in New Delhi are in addition to the ones given to Sikh pilgrims participating in the event from different parts of the world
