Unborn Baby Decapitated In Botched-Up Delivery In Jaisalmer, Nurse Leaves Head Inside

Darpan News Desk IANS, 10 Jan, 2019 08:00 PM

In a shocking incident, the head of new born got severed and was stuck inside the womb as the body was pulled out during a botched-up delivery procedure in a hospital in Jaisalmer district.

After the incident that reportedly occurred in a government hospital at Ramgarh early this week, the State Medical and Health Department put Dr Nikhil Sharma on Awaiting Posting Order (APO) and suspended two nurses - Amritlal and Jhujhar Singh - posted at hospital for negligence during pregnancy procedure.

It is learnt that the gynaecology team to keep the matter under wraps referred the woman to Jaisalmer for further treatment, where it was revealed that the head of new born was stuck inside the womb while the body was taken out probably by force. Later, a doctor at Jaisalmer hospital removed the head from the womb.

Jalam Singh, husband of Diksha Kanwar, lodged an FIR at the Ramgarh police station against the hospital's gynaecology team for allegedly killing the newborn.

Meanwhile, Dr Nikhil who was put on APO claimed that when the pregnant woman was brought for delivery the new born was already dead and that his legs were outside the uterus.
