Teams of the Panchkula police today raided several places in Punjab, particularly Mohali, to arrest the remaining accused in the Saketri murder case.
 
Police sources said they had got reliable information regarding the hideouts of the nine accused and they would soon trace them. The police contacted the families and friends of the accused and tracked their phone numbers.
 
The police have arrested three accused in the case, including Manmeet Singh Waraich, son of Kuljit Kaur Waraich, councillor from Ward No. 8 in Panchkula; and his cousin Harmanpreet, and recovered the Swift car used in the brutal murder of Varinder Singh Sandhu, a resident of Saketri, on Monday.
 
 
The three arrested accused have been remanded in police custody till March 22. A forensic examination of the Swift car has been conducted. Another car used in the crime, a Hyundai i20, and weapons are yet to be recovered.
 
Varinder (26) was kidnapped from his house, attacked with swords, dragged to about 1 km and was run over by the assailants. The attackers had an old enmity with Varinder’s cousin Avtar.
