  • Varnika Kundu Stalking Case: Punjab And Haryana HC Grants Bail To Accused Vikas Barala
The Punjab and Haryana High Court on Thursday granted bail to Vikas Barala, son of Haryana BJP chief Subhash Barala, in a stalking case.

Seeking the grant of regular bail from Justice Lisa Gill’s Bench, Barala’s counsel had earlier submitted that the accused was already behind bars for more than four months and should be granted bail.

Barala is the main accused in the stalking case of disc jockey Varnika Kundu, daughter of IAS officer VS Kundu. His bail plea was rejected for the fourth time by the trial court recently, compelling him to move the High Court.

Barala is accused of stalking Varnika and trying to block her car. He was represented by a battery of lawyers--Birender Singh Rana, Vinod Ghai, Gagandeep Rana, JS Mehndiratta and Simrandeep S Sandhu. The state was represented by senior advocate RS Rai and Gautam Dutt, while Pankaj Bhardwaj appeared for the complainant.
