[VIDEO] Rajasthan Government Teacher Suspended For Doing 'Naagin Dance' After Performance Went Viral

Darpan News Desk , 28 Nov, 2019 08:01 PM

A government school teacher was suspended for dancing to the tunes of 'Naagin dance'.

Two other teachers were issued show-cause notices. The incident happened in Rajasthan's Jalore district, however, the suspension order was issued on Wednesday after the video went viral on social media.

The teachers were attending a training programme in Jalore district when the incident happened about 10 days ago.

The video shows three teachers performing the 'Naagin dance' as others cheer and applaud them. While the two male teachers mimic playing snake charmer's instrument, the female teacher sways like a snake to the tune.

"We have suspended a teacher who organised the dance and have issued show-cause notices to two others as they are new recruits and may not be aware of the rules. There is no harm in organising dance and playful activities, but a code of conduct should be maintained," Ashok Roeshwal, Jalore district education officer told

However, some teachers in the department have objected to the suspension order. "They were just enjoying with other teachers during the break time," one teacher said. What's vulgar or harmful in this? Can't a government employee have a good time with colleagues? This is not justified."
