WATCH: Gurpreet Ghuggi Openly Comes Out In Support Of Sukhpal Khaira

  • WATCH: Gurpreet Ghuggi Openly Comes Out In Support Of Sukhpal Khaira
Popular Punjabi actor Gurpreet Singh Waraich (Ghuggi), who was the convenor of Punjab unit of Aam Aadmi Party during the last Vidhan Sabha election, has openly come out in support of ousted Leader of Opposition Sukhpal Singh Khaira.

In a video Ghuggi has extended full support to Khaira and blamed the AAP central leadership of not being able to digest that Khaira was a strong leader and was speaking for the good of Punjab. His coming out openly in Khaira’s support reveals a new formation of AAP leaders, who had objected to the lack of autonomy in Punjab unit of the party or had opposed the party top leadership.

Ghuggi had unsuccessfully contested the last assembly election on AAP ticket from Batala. He had lost the election and subsequently in May 2017 had resigned from the party, after he was replaced by Bhagwant Mann as convenor.

Ghuggi had then openly spoken against Mann, saying Mann was made convenor on the condition that he would quit drinking, and objected to the way he was unceremoniously removed.

In his video sent on Wednesday, Ghuggi said, “I fought for Punjab but was unsuccessful. The reason for this was that the people with whom we were fighting for Punjab were not “well-intentioned”. I feel sorry for this and also feel sorry that whenever someone raises a strong voice in favour of Punjab, his voice is silenced.”

Ghuggi also called upon AAP workers to support Khaira.
