Will End Child Labour, Arvind Kejriwal Assures Nobel Laureate Kailash Satyarthi

Darpan News Desk IANS, 23 Apr, 2015 10:46 AM
Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Thursday met Nobel laureate and child rights activist Kailash Satyarthi and assured him of his government's best efforts to remove child labour from the national capital.

Satyarthi, who called on Kejriwal at the secretariat here, raised the issues of child rights and child protection.

He told Kejriwal that a huge number of children were being trafficked and used by job placement agencies.

He said such agencies need to be regulated.

Kejriwal said the Delhi government would do its best and all required steps would be taken to regulate these agencies.

"We will do our best on the issues of concern discussed. All steps needed would be taken," an official statement quoted Kejriwal as saying.
