IANS, 11 Aug, 2017 01:03 PM
A youth, who was going for a court hearing, was on Friday allegedly shot dead by two bike-borne men in broad daylight in Rohtak town of Haryana, police said.

The incident was captured by a CCTV camera installed at the scene of the incident.

Ankit, said to be in his 20s, was riding pillion on a motorcycle when the two men opened fire at him.

He fell off the motorcycle and one man can be seen pumping bullets into his body, though he was lying on the ground in a pool of blood, police said.

The incident took place on Ladhot road on the outskirts of Rohtak.

It was caught in the CCTV camera, DSP (City), Rohtak, Ramesh Kumar said.

He said Ankit had been booked for conspiracy in a murder case of a national-level Kabaddi player last year and was going for the court hearing when he was attacked.

While Ankit died on the spot, his friend, who was riding the motorcycle fled to safety.

The DSP said the Kabaddi player of Rithal village was shot dead in a similar manner, in which Ankit and his friend were booked. They were currently out on bail, he added.

Kumar said the men who killed Ankit have been identified and efforts were on to nab them.

A murder case has been registered against them while some more persons have been booked for conspiracy, he said.

Ankit belonged to Rithal village in Rohtak.
