Agra University Publishes Marksheet With Salman Khan's Photo

  • Agra University Publishes Marksheet With Salman Khan's Photo
In an apparent incident of administrative laxity, Agra University printed a marksheet of a first-year Bachelor of Arts student with Bollywood actor Salman Khan's picture.

According to Times of India, this shocking incident came into notice when Dr B. R. Ambedkar University (originally known as Agra University) officials were cross-checking the marksheets of students before releasing it. According to the report, the marksheet has a passport-sized photo of the Tubelight actor pasted on it with the name of the student who scored aggregate 35% in his degree first year exam.

An official told the publication that they found several other marksheets too with discrepancies, including one with a photo of Congress Vice President Rahul Gandhi.

The report also said student whose mark sheet had the image of the Bollywood actor is belonged to Amrata Singh Memorial Degree College, Tejpur Java, Aligarh which is affiliated to Agra University.

This discrepancy comes to the fore barely a fortnight before President of India Ram Nath Kovind is expected to visit the Agra based university to be part of its convocation ceremony.

Agra University is scheduled to organise its convocation ceremony on December 3.

After the incident came into the notice, Agra University authorities immediately summon back the marksheet and rectified it to avoid further embarrassment.

Though, the public relation officer G S Sharma of Agra University told Times of India that the varsity has not received any complaint from anyone in this regard.

The Agra University caters to the educational need of the seven districts of Agra Division of Uttar Pradesh state - Agra, Aligarh, Mainpuri, Hathras, Firozabad, Etah and Mathura.

Earlier in May this year, in an apparent prank, an admit card with actor Abhishek Bachchan's name and picture appeared on the official website of the Staff Selection Commission (SSC) for candidates who took a multi-tasking (non-technical) staff examination.

The star, obviously, did not sit for the test that was held in Jaipur on April 30.

Though the SSC did not come out with any clarification or comments on the matter, but an official then said it was possibly a prank played by someone who is still to be identified. The Commission is looking into the case, the official said then.
