Buy Earplugs: Did This Pakistani Vlogger Get Arrested For Singing Chainsmokers’s Closer?

Darpan News Desk IANS, 10 Feb, 2017 12:53 PM

Nasir Khan Jan, a vlogger from Pakistan, recently “sang” his rendition of Closer by Chainsmokers (gaining almost 12k views on YouTube). And it’s safe to say: He ruined it. Forever.

Bizarrely, Jan even got punished for exposing his ‘fans’ (he has over 26,000 Facebook followers and some 2k YouTube subscribers), to his toxic singing. According to reports, the apparent social media sensation, was arrested on Wednesday.

Although it’s still not clear why Jan got arrested in the first place, he confirmed it and even tweeted about his misery, writing about how police arrested him for no reason, but wouldn't arrest criminals.

“Police Arrested me for no reason wtf…Why you not arrest criminals, and Crupt politicians? Thnks a lot to Zahreeli chummi page admin for my Bail. And thnks for my fans who protested for me,” he wrote. In fact, there were picture of Khan Jan handcuffed that were doing the rounds on social media.

But who is Nasir Khan Jan and what does he really do? For one he posts funny videos on YouTube and Facebook, of him “singing” (or destroying) everything from Raees’ title track to what you (don’t) need to know about onion!

In a recent interview with The Express Tribune, he said that people ridiculed and abused him for posting “obscene” videos. He even fears getting killed for exercising his right to freedom of expression. Reportedly, he received death threats and was even attacked by locals who said he was bringing shame to the community and the area.
