Gujarat Chief Minister Makes Donation To Ambaji Temple Using Wife's Debit Card

    To popularise cashless transactions among people following the demonetisation move, Gujarat Chief Minister Vijay Rupani today inaugurated the 'digital donation' system at the Ambaji Temple and made a donation of Rs. 31,000 using his wife's debit card.
     
    Mr Rupani along with his wife Anjaliben today visited the well-known Ambaji Temple in Banaskantha district and performed 'aarti'.
     
    During their visit, Mr Rupani inaugurated 'digital donation' system adopted by the Ambaji Devsthan Trust to accept donations through debit or credit card using swipe machines, an official release said.
     
    On the occasion, the couple donated Rs. 31,000 by swiping Anjaliben's debit card in the newly installed machine, it added.

    Such swipe machines have been kept at 'prasad' centres as well as in the office of temple inspector. Devotees will now be able to give donations using this system, said the release.
     
    Speaking to media, Mr Rupani stressed that people will not face any problem if they embrace such cashless system, which is already popular in western countries.
