Indian Man Ties Mouse to Jar & Tortures it For Stealing in Disturbing Video

IANS, 27 Oct, 2017 02:04 PM
A disturbing video of a rat being tied to a jar and hit multiple times by a sadistic shopkeeper has surfaced online and is bound to make anyone’s blood boil. An Indian shopkeeper, Melahalli Ramanna, filmed whipping the rodent for ‘stealing’ his food and the sight is extremely troubling.

The event occurred in Mysore where the rodent was raiding the man’s shop and was feeding on his groceries every night, as mice normally do. However, the angry man set a rat trap and when the tiny creature was captured, tortured it and captured it all on video.

The video shows the rat being tied around a glass jar with a green string in a spread out position. The man then takes a stick and begins to whip the rodent while continuously shouting at the rat and says, “Will it eat gram flour and wheat again?”

The troubled rat is seen squeaking in pain as it is repeatedly hit with the stick. The man becomes so violent that the jar falls off the table at one point. However, instead of stopping, Melahalli picks it up and continues hitting the rodent.

While rat infestation can be frustrating, especially to grocery shopkeepers, most sane humans simply set the traps to capture the rat and set them free elsewhere. However, this rather troubling behaviour of the man and his merciless abuse has left various animal lovers in shock. The rat looks completely helpless and troubled in the video and the torture it is put through is bound to break many hearts.

It is not clear if the rodent survived this merciless trashing as the video abruptly ends. The background of the video shows that the man is accompanied by his friends who are laughing at the rat and suggesting that adding music to the end would make the video more entertaining. Anthony Rubin, an animal welfare officer from Chennai spoke about this hurtful video and condemned the torture that the rat went through.
