Photo Of Haryana Policeman Doing Duty Barefoot In Heavy Rains Inspires Many

IANS, 09 Aug, 2016 01:15 PM
Rakesh Kumar, a policeman with the Haryana police posted in Sonipat, Haryana, India was recently seen on the streets, barefoot, in the middle of heavy rains.

Why barefoot? The policeman said that he only has a pair of boots and had to go to work the next day as well and he’d rather not get his shoes soiled and wet.

All of us go to work in the middle of heavy rains, what’s the big deal, you might think. The big deal is that Kumar, stood on the road, in the middle of a heavy downpour, doing his duty with such dedication, unconcerned about his bare feet.

Kumar’s photo of going about his duty irrespective of the rain and lack of shoes had gone viral on social media platforms after a Facebook user posted his photo along with his story, which brings his selfless act to light.

He has become an inspiration and exemplifies the true duty of a public servant — service to his nation.  The Facebook post on this inspiring officer has been shared more than 10,000 times and has garnered numerous positive comments on the Internet. The user who posted about Kumar, has lauded him for working in such harsh weather conditions, with not even an umbrella to protect himself.
