Regina Nightclub Pulls Tequila 2 For 1 Using 'lest We Forget' After Backlash

Darpan News Desk IANS, 08 Nov, 2016 01:07 PM
REGINA — A Regina nightclub has pulled an ad promoting two-for-one tequila the night before Remembrance Day following an online backlash.

The ad for Gabbo's featured a background of poppies and the phrase "Lest we forget."

It was posted on Gabbo's social media accounts and immediately received criticism by people who called the ad "utterly classless" and disrespectful to veterans.

Gabbo's deleted the tweet but it has not commented.

A Calgary real estate agent was also slammed for his ad featuring a soldier's helmet surrounded by poppies which said "Remember when prices were this low?" and included two of his listings.

He retracted the ad, calling it "stupid and ridiculous," and added he was very sorry.
