Video: Australian Cop Stops Press Conference To Make An Arrest

IANS, 05 Apr, 2017 12:33 PM
A man has learnt not to swear in front of police after he was swiftly arrested by a senior detective in the middle of a press conference.

Detective Inspector Winston Woodward was addressing journalists outside the Albury police station yesterday morning when a dishevelled-looking man wandered past and yelled out “bulls---”, The Border Mail reports.

Footage taken by media cameramen at the press conference shows the police officer calmly excusing himself and walking over to confront the man.

The bewildered man was holding a beer bottle, which Det Insp Woodward ordered him to empty into the garden. When he refused to cooperate, the cop grabbed his T-shirt and dragged him inside the police station while yelling "come with me".

The detective then marched the man into the station as the journalists looked on.

A spokesperson for Albury Police said the man was issued with a criminal infringement notice for offensive language and given an on-the-spot fine of $500.

After the incident, the cop returned to continue his interaction with the media. As for the man, guess he learned his lesson to never abuse a cop again.
