VIDEO: This Beautiful Cover Of Christmas Carol By A Muslim Singer Is Going Viral

Darpan News Desk IANS, 25 Dec, 2017 02:31 PM

A US-based musician Raef has presented a Christmas carol in a new way merging two faiths -- Islam and Christianity.

Singing a cover of ‘Deck the Halls’, the famous Christmas song, he altered some lyrics.

Netizens are arguing that Raef goes against Islam because “music is haram in Islam.” There were a few others who deemed the song inappropriate for being disrespectful to Jesus Christ and the true essence of Christmas.

Sharing the song on Facebook Raef wrote, “Those who celebrate Jesus from the Christian faith and those who express love for him from the Muslim faith have plenty in common.” With over 5.7 lakh views, most of the people on the platform were moved by the creation.

Raef - The Muslim Christmas Song (Deck the Halls Cover)

This song shows our love for prophet Isa (Jesus) , peace be upon him. His miraculous birth, his honorable mother Mariam (Mary), and the chain of prophethood that links him, Prophet Muhammadﷺ , and all other prophets is central to Islam. Those who celebrate Jesus from the Christian faith and those who express love for him from the Muslim faith have plenty in common. The original tune "Deck the Halls" is a Welsh folk song that has become one of the most recognizable melodies during the Holiday season - the power of music to transcend cultural and religious boundaries is incredible! Let me know what you think, and feel free to share 🙂 #coexist #Christmas #Islam #Jesus #Muhammad
