Watch: Barack Obama Unsure Of Why He Got Nobel Peace Prize

Darpan News Desk IANS, 19 Oct, 2016 12:35 PM
US President Barack Obama, who was awarded Nobel Peace Prize in 2009, has said he is still not sure why the prestigious prize was bestowed on him.

President Obama, 55, who will leave White House in January next year, suffered indignities of the job interview as he was questioned about his qualifications by Stephen Colbert in "The Late Show".

Asked by Mr Colbert to list any relevant awards or qualifications, Obama replied, "I have almost 30 honorary degrees and I did get the Nobel Peace Prize".

"Really, what was that for?," enquired Mr Colbert.

"To be honest, I still don't know," President Obama responded, 'Los Angeles Times' reported.

Mr Colbert also asked President Obama questions such as where he was born, and a fruit related query.

"I would like to ask you about your choice of snacks," Mr Colbert told the president in the interview, a segment of which was aired on Monday.

"Would you care for an extra-fiber nutrient bar, which has traveled to more than 100 countries, or this shriveled tangerine, covered in golden retriever hair, filled with bile, that I wouldn't leave alone with a woman I loved?" Mr Colbert told President Obama.

"I think I will go with the fiber nutrient bar," President Obama replied.
