WATCH: The Maritime Bhangra Group has been creating viral bhangra dance videos while raising funds for varied range of causes from #cancer to #ALS to #BLM Hasmeet Singh Chandok the co founder of The Maritime Bhangra Group joined Darpan's social media host Ish Sharma for a candid chat.
The group was born in 2016 by International students as an attempt to have fun and perhaps bridge gaps between different communities in Canada. It wasn't just Bhangra dancing that they wanted to spotlight but also they wanted to support different causes through art of movement and thus it was joyous activism all the way.
"Your face is something you wear all your life, and it tells a very unique story about you," says Karl Ricanek Jr., co-founder and chief data scientist at Lapetus Solutions Inc. in Wilmington, North Carolina.
