PRINCE GEORGE, B.C. — A WestJet plane has landed safely in Prince George, British Columbia, after an emergency forced it to divert from its original flight plan.

Airline spokeswoman Lauren Stewart says the crew aboard WestJet Encore flight 3105 declared an emergency around 10:30 a.m. after experiencing a problem with the aircraft's front landing gear.

The flight left Vancouver Tuesday morning bound for Terrace, B.C., but touched down instead in Prince George around 11:45 p.m.

Stewart says the plane landed normally and no one was injured.

There were 40 people and four crew on board the Bombardier Q400.

The Prince George Airport Authority activated its emergency operations centre and a spokeswoman says police, firefighters and paramedics are on scene.
