Woman Stabs Flipkart Employee 20 Times For Delaying Delivery Of A Mobile Phone

IANS, 30 Mar, 2018 02:13 PM
How badly you need that phone you ordered from Flipkart and Amazon. Surely, very badly. But not as badly as this Delhi woman wanted it. The woman, identified by police as 30-year-old Kamal Deep, stabbed a Flipkart delivery man because the mobile phone she was supposed to get from the e-commerce site reached her late.

The Flipkart guy, identified as 28-year-old Keshav, was reportedly struggling for his life in a hospital after the incident. He was stabbed multiple times by the woman in Nihal Vihar area in Delhi, after she accused him of delaying the delivery of mobile phone she purchased from Flipkart.

According to a report in the Hindu, Kamal Deep and her brother Jitender Singh, 32, were arrested by police on Wednesday for attacking and robbing the delivery man. Police said the two were booked under IPC sections of attempt to murder and intentionally causing hurt while committing robbery.

The police received a PCR call on Wednesday night informing them of an injured man lying near a drain in Chandan Vihar area. The team reached the spot and took the victim to Sanjay Gandhi Hospital.

"The injured was identified as Keshav, a resident of Ambica Enclave in Nihal Vihar. He recorded his statement on March 24 and based on his statement, the accused were arrested. A CCTV footage also helped us crack the case," a senior police officer told The Hindu.

According to the statement of the victim, he works for Flipkart. He said that he received continuous phone calls on March 21 from this woman complaining of the delay in the delivery of her mobile phone worth Rs 11,000.

As per the statement given by him to the police, he was unable to locate the house because he was new to the area. When he reached the address, the woman allegedly started screaming at him and rushed to get a knife from the kitchen. On hearing the noise when her brother tried to intervene, she asked him either to stay out of it or help her teach the delivery guy a lesson.

Together the siblings stabbed the man over 20 times and even tried to strangle him to death using a shoe lace. They looted Rs 40,000 cash from him and dumped him near a drain late night.

Cops said the accused tried to misguide the police during the investigation but a CCTV camera installed nearby captured the entry of the delivery man and when his body was taken out of the building. Cops have reportedly recovered Rs 40,000 cash, a blood-stained towel, knife and shoe laces from the crime area.
