Darpan News Desk IANS, 18 Nov, 2019 08:26 PM

In yet another incident, a human rights activist was kidnapped by four unidentified men in Pakistan's Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, media reports said.

The incident happened when Idris Khattak was travelling from Akora Khattak village to Swabi district in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province. Four unidentified men stopped his car and abducted him, the activist's driver told the police.

As per the police complaint Khattak went missing on November 13 but no FIR has been registered as yet.

Political leader Jibran Nasir has claimed that Khattak, who has been associated with several human rights organisations, was abducted by intelligence agencies on Islamabad-Peshawar highway near Swabi intersection.

Nasir claimed that Khattak's driver was also kidnapped but he was released after three days.

However, Khattak's driver has not mentioned aboutit in his complaint.

Meanwhile, Human Rights Commission of Pakistan (HRCP) demanded an immediate recovery of the activist, who, the commission said, was active in Pakistan politics since his college days.

"HRCP condemns arbitrary #detentions and urges the Pakistani state to fulfill its constitutional obligations towards its citizens," the commission tweeted.
