Converted Pakistani Sikh Girl Jagjit Kaur To Return To Her Family: DSGMC

Darpan News Desk IANS, 03 Sep, 2019 08:02 PM

The Delhi Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee (DSGMC) president Manjinder Singh Sirsa claimed on Tuesday that Jagjit Kaur, the girl who was abducted from Nankana Sahib in Pakistan, will be handed over to her parents after a mutual agreement was reached between the families of the boy and the girl in house of the Governor in Lahore.

Sirsa said he has spoken to the girl’s father after the meeting. The DSGMC chief added that he has received a video from Pakistan in which families of both the boy and the girl are standing with the Lahore Governor and are stating that now Jagjit Kaur will return to her family.

He thanked the community leaders worldwide for overwhelming support on the issue and also urged them to continue to raise voice in matter of other girls also.

He said this decision has been taken only after overwhelming support of the Sikh community worldwide.

Sirsa said after return of Jagjit Kaur now we will ensure return of other girls too who are abducted, forcefully converted to Islam and married to Muslim men.

He also released a list of 31 Hindu and Sikh girls who were abducted, forcefully converted into Islam and then married to Muslim men during last two and a half months in Pakistan.
