A 21-year-old woman has been arrested for allegedly murdering her elder sister in northeast Delhi's Shastri Park area for showing interest in the former's boyfriend, police said on Monday.

The woman was found murdered on December 14, DCP (Northeast) Ajit Kumar Singla said.

"The deceased's sister was questioned after her behavior was found suspicious. After sustained interrogation, she confessed that she had killed her sister," he said.

According to the accused, her elder sister was taking interest in her boyfriend Waseem despite her warnings, police said.

The sisters had a verbal argument following which the younger sister murdered her sibling with a country made pistol, which had been kept at her home by her boyfriend.

"After murdering her sister, the accused tried to mislead police by telling different stories. She also concealed the weapon of offence by giving it to her friend Abid," Mr Singla said.

Abid and Waseem are still on the run, he added
