  • Fresno man Manjeet Singh died trying to save drowning kids

On Wednesday evening, 29 year old Sikh man Manjeet Singh lost his own life trying to save three children from being swept away in the swift current of the Kings River in California.

The Good Samaritan Manjeet Singh who was standing on the bank saw the two 8 year old girls and a 10 year old boy playing in the river but realized their lives were in danger as they were being pulled into the moving water.

Without even a moment’s hesitation Singh jumped into the river while putting his own life at risk. However due to the force of the water, Singh was pulled into the water just after a short time.

Other bystanders in the area were able to pull 2 of the 3 children out of the water.

CPR was performed on one of the 8 year old girls as she had been submerged for 15 mins.

The search began for Singh but after about 40 mins he was found underwater and he was pulled out but was unresponsive. Police say he was rushed to hospital and pronounced dead there.

2 of the children are in good condition but the 8 year old girl who was given CPR is in serious condition in hospital.
