The Canadian Press, 02 Aug, 2015 12:13 PM
A Kenya-born British stand-up comedian of Indian origin is set to perform for the second consecutive year at the annual "Edinburgh Festival Fringe 2015" to be held from August 7 to 31.

Imran Yusuf returns to Edinburgh this year with a special sequel "Super Roar of the Underdog -- Turbo X: HD Remix", the media reported on Sunday.

"Yusuf has established himself as a truly unique voice in the world of comedy and is known for seamlessly-weaving socio-political satire with heartfelt introspection in his charmingly-endearing trademark style," said a report in The Edinburgh Reporter.

Born in Kenya, Yusuf was raised in London. He speaks fluent Hindi and Urdu that allowed him to make a mark in in the growing stand-up comedy scene in India.

With his rich multicultural background, he has become an original voice that embodies the multi-cultural wealth in modern Britain.

He was featured in The Telegraph's "Top Jokes of the Fringe" last year.

Initially working in the video game industry, he also worked at the European office of the American company Midway Games.

Yusuf initially performed two open spots in 2000 at a comedy show but then did not choose to pursue stand-up comedy.

He was the first winner of the "You Must Be Joking" stand-up competition at Newbury Comedy Festival in 2004.

After being nominated for "Best Newcomer" in the Foster's Edinburgh Comedy Awards in 2010, Yusuf appeared on a Comedy show on BBC 1.

He is a regular member of the team-based topical comedy show "The Cutting Edge" at The Comedy Store in London, and most-recently featured as the star of "Ultimate Brain: Mad Lab" show.

Yusuf will be seen in BBC Three's new series 'FRIED' which will be aired this summer.

He has completed two British tours with his solo shows "An Audience with Imran Yusuf" and "Bring The Thunder".

Yusuf took his third solo show "Roar of The Underdog" to the Edinburgh Festival in 2014 and is taking its sequel; "Super Roar of The Underdog Turbo X: HD Remix" to the Edinburgh Festival in 2015.
