India is arrogant, says Pakistan

Darpan News Desk IANS, 15 Jan, 2015 11:10 AM
A top Pakistani officer has accused India of "arrogance" and described Kashmir as a "festering wound" between the two countries.

Major General Asim Bajwa, director general of the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), was addressing the Royal United Services Institute (RUSI) here.

He said while India kept hurling allegations against Pakistan, Islamabad was offering peace, The News International reported Thursday.

"Kashmir is a festering wound between the two countries," he said.

The general alleged that border violations by India were distracting Pakistan from the task of battling terrorism on the Pakistan-Afghan frontier.

"(But) we have shown lots of restraint."

He said Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif had gone to great lengths to build the peace process with India.

New Delhi must understand that Pakistan was not oblivious to what is happening in India, he said, without elaborating.
