Indian Man, 29, Dies In Australia After Falling From Third-Floor Balcony

Darpan News Desk IANS, 02 Apr, 2015 02:22 PM
An Indian IT professional died on Thursday after falling from the third-floor balcony of an apartment in this Australian city, police said.

Pankaj Saw, 29, an IT analyst, was talking to his wife in India on the phone when he plunged about 10 metres to the ground at the apartments block in Macquarie Park about 1 a.m. on Thursday, the Sydney Morning Herald reported.

A New South Wales police spokesperson said investigators believed the Indian national's death was a result of "misadventure", and initial investigations suggested there might have been "some fault with the balcony".

Saw suffered critical head and internal injuries, and died at the scene.

Saw worked as a systems support analyst for an Indian IT firm, Tech Mahindra, which has offices in North Sydney and Chatswood, and carries out outsourcing work for Optus.

His manager, Karen Waller, said Saw had only recently returned from India after his marriage.

Saw is believed to have returned to Australia on his own, and was staying with friends ahead of his wife joining him in Australia at a later date.
