  • Indian-origin Girl Killed In Australia Road Crash
An Indian-origin schoolgirl was killed in a tragic car accident in Australia Monday.

Aneri Patel, 16, from Kogarah High School, was believed to be waiting at the bus stop when she was hit by a Mitsubishi Challenger, a mid-size SUV, around 11.30 a.m.

The accident occurred in Kogarah, a suburb of southern Sydney in New South Wales, when a 4WD crashed into the O'Reilly & Daly Chemist, demolishing half the shop, theleader.com.au reported.

Police found the girl trapped under the vehicle. She suffered critical injuries and died.

A male customer at the chemist, in his 60s, was pinned by his legs under the car and later taken to hospital.

Police arrested the female driver, 26, and took her to Kogarah Police Station. A 29-year-old female passenger, and owner of the vehicle, was treated in hospital for shock.

However, two children - aged two and four - who were also in the car, were not injured.

Investigation was on but no charges have been laid as yet.
