It Will Be Life As Usual For This Indian Who Just Won Dh10 Million (Rs 19.45 Crore) Raffle In Abu Dhabi

Darpan News Desk IANS, 04 Feb, 2019 09:15 PM

An Indian expat won 10 million dirhams ($2.7 million) in a raffle held in Abu Dhabi on Sunday.

Prashanth Pandarathil bought the ticket online on January 4. The second prize of 100,000 dirhams was only won by another Indian, Kuldeep Kumar, reports The Khaleej Times.

“This must have been the fifth or sixth time I bought the Big Ticket along with a friend, but it is the first time I have won something in the UAE.”

“Initially, I din’t believe the news and told my wife to check the details online. It’s only when she confirmed it to me that the reality sank in,” Pandarathil said, recalling the conversation with his wife Dhanya, who works as a global logistics operations manager.

There were six Indians in the top 10 winning list.

Last month, Abhishek Kathel, a Sharjah-based Indian expat, won $1 million in a Dubai Duty Free raffle.

In another lucky draw also last month, Dubai-based Sarath Purushothaman was announced the winner of 15 million dirhams at the Abu Dhabi International Airport.
