Pakistan Bid To Seek Mediation In Ties With India Has No Takers

  • Pakistan Bid To Seek Mediation In Ties With India Has No Takers

No country offered to mediate in the face of the rising tensions between India and Pakistan following the IAF air strike on a Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM) terror camp at Balakot in Pakistan, officials said here on Tuesday, adding India has received strong support for its stance on the cross-border terrorism.

Officials said Pakistan has been making efforts for mediation, but no country has come forward so far.

Sources said Pakistan wanted the international community to get involved, but India was not playing its game. The focus, they said, was on global war on terrorism. Even Iran and Afghanistan have said Pakistan-based groups indulged in terror activities on their soil, sources said.

The Indian Air Force (IAF) had conducted an air strike at Balakot in Pakistan on February 26 following the Pulwama terror attack in which 40 CRPF troopers were killed on February 14. Pakistan-based JeM had claimed responsibility for the attack.

The air strike was followed by an aerial dogfight in which both India and Pakistan lost one fighter jet each.
