Police Say Fitness Model Killed By Train Was Running Along The Tracks Despite Its Horn

Darpan News Desk The Canadian Press, 21 Jan, 2015 11:17 AM
LOS ANGELES — A fitness model and actor who was killed when he was hit by a train was running on the tracks ahead of the train while filming a promotional video for his website.

Burbank police Officer Joshua Kendrick says video from a camera atop the Metrolink commuter train shows 37-year-old George Gregory Plitt Jr. running between the rails Saturday afternoon in Burbank.

Kendrick says the conductor was braking and blowing the train's horn, but Plitt didn't get off the tracks.

Plitt eventually falls out of view. Detectives are working on getting another video filmed by friends from a different angle.

Plitt was among the more recognizable faces and physiques in the fitness industry.

Friends say he was a West Point graduate and Army Ranger with a taste for the extreme.
