University of Texas student, Jaskaran Singh, wins the Jeopardy College Championship

Jaskaran Singh, a senior at The Universi!ty of Texas at Austin’s McCombs School of Business double majoring in finance and economics, won the $250,000 grand prize during the finals earlier in the evening on the same day as the lighting in his honor. He played against Liz Feltner of Northeastern University and Raymond Goslow of Kennesaw State.

The top of the Tower shone bright with a burnt orange top Tuesday, February 22, 2022 to celebrate student Jaskaran Singh’s victory in the “Jeopardy! National College Championship" shared the university's website. 

Jeopardy took to social media to congratulate Singh on his win.

“[It] feels pretty awesome,” Singh was quoted as saying by the Jeopardy website. “It’ll definitely go a long way towards paying my tuition (fees) and a lot more,” he added.

Singh has been playing Jeoparday since the age of 13 and his mother has been his greatest supporter and even told him to apply then but he didn't make the audition. In his Linkedin profile says he had volunteered as a Punjabi teacher for three months in 2018. He also taught Sikh history to children and he has native or bilingual proficiency in Punjabi language.
