Woman, 2 Grandchildren Found Hammered To Death In Ludhiana

IANS, 03 Aug, 2018 12:23 PM
A woman and her two grandchildren were allegedly murdered in what appears to be a case of daylight robbery at Ludhiana’s Kishore Nagar on Friday.

Gurvinder Kaur’s husband, a pathi in a gurdwara, found suspicious bloodstains when he returned home in the afternoon, and broke open the lock to find his 52-year-old wife and two grandchildren—8-year-old Mandeep Kaur and 7-year-old Hitik Bassi—lying dead in a pool of blood.

The suspect, Rajwinder Singh—a 35-year-old a relative of Gurvinder Kaur—is believed to have hit the three victims on their heads with a hammer and fled with Rs 45,000 and other valuables. The suspect was unemployed, and frequently visited the couple’s house for food.

The suspect is currently on the run.

The incident is believed to have occurred around 3.50 pm.
