The DARPAN Magazine team participated in the vibrant Vaisakhi celebrations on two consecutive Saturdays. On April 13th, 2024, we attended the Vancouver Vaisakhi parade, which commenced at the Ross Street Gurdwara and followed along Main Street.

A uniquely empowering initiative, the Patka Box, is making a profound impact in schools, particularly for Sikh students. The Patka, a head covering worn by Sikh boys as a symbol of their faith and identity, is now receiving the recognition and support it deserves in educational institutions.
Hola Mohalla is an important Sikh festival that occurs the day after the Holi festival. "Hola" is derived from the word halla (a military charge), and the term "Mohalla" stands for an organized procession such as an army column.
Sharing the stories of inspirational South Asian Canadians is a wonderful way to celebrate their achievements and contributions to society. Through Darpan My Journey we hope to inspire others within the South Asian community and beyond, while also fostering a sense of pride and unity.
