Hauser & Wirth Publishers Pop-up Bookshop at Holt Renfrew

Darpan News Desk, 24 Nov, 2017 12:06 PM
Canadian luxury retailer Holt Renfrew and international contemporary art gallery Hauser & Wirth today announced a Hauser & Wirth Publishers pop-up bookshop located within Holt Renfrew’s Vancouver flagship store. The bookshop will remain active through 13 January 2018.

The Hauser & Wirth Publishers pop-up bookshop offers dozens of titles that speak to the gallery’s quartercentury history of exhibitions, projects, and research. It includes ‘Eva Hesse. Diaries,’ an award-winning publication that collects the artist’s diaries and journals; ‘Portable Art. A Project by Celia Forner,’ which explores artworks that exist somewhere between sculpture and jewelry; books featuring the work of Louise Bourgeois, Philip Guston, Mike Kelley, and Zhang Enli; as well as highlights from the gallery’s recent exhibitions, such as ‘Ardent Nature. Arshile Gorky Landscapes, 1943–47’ and ‘More Dimensions Than You Know: Jack Whitten, Paintings 1979–1989.’ The pop-up also features a curated selection of objects designed by artists that Hauser & Wirth represents, ranging from a limited edition cashmere blanket by Mary Heilmann, to skate decks by Los Angeles–based artist Paul McCarthy.

‘We’re thrilled to introduce Hauser & Wirth Publishers to a new audience here in Vancouver,’ said Michaela Unterdörfer, Chief Editor of Hauser & Wirth Publishers. ‘It’s a privilege to collaborate with Holt Renfrew on this project. There’s a shared passion for supporting the work of visionaries, artists, and designers. Our hope is that the pop-up can act as a space for the public to explore contemporary art and exchange ideas.’

Barbara Wolfson, Holt Renfrew Vice President Store Experience said ‘As Canada’s luxury retailer Holt Renfrew strives to deliver an extraordinary experience for clients with a carefully curated assortment of the world’s greatest brands. We are delighted to add Hauser & Wirth Publishers to our store in a unique environment, with treasured finds perfect for holiday giving.’
