Peppa Pig’s Big Splash: Fall in love with Peppa’s family

Petrina D'Souza, 10 Apr, 2017 01:55 PM
I have always seen my nieces watching Peppa Pig, an animated TV show for kids revolving around a little female pig and her family and friends. I always wondered what was so interesting about the show that my nieces, aged 3 and 4, couldn’t miss a single episode of it. I found the answer while watching Peppa Pig’s Big Splash, Peppa’s first North American theatre tour that took place recently in Vancouver.

To give you a summary, in Peppa Pig’s Big Splash, Peppa and her friends set up a fair to raise money to fix the nursery’s leaking roof. Peppa’s family and friends organize an exciting day out complete with a Champion Puddle Jumping Competition judged by Mr. Potato.

Watching your favourite cartoon character come alive creates a different kind of excitement and happiness among children. This excitement was strongly felt throughout the show. Little kids were dressed up in their favourite pink Peppa Pig dress or brought in their Peppa soft toy to the theatre. A full-house show was a clear indicator that Peppa Pig was one of the most-loved shows among kids and a favourite character for many.

The live show was funny, amusing and a complete entertainer for all the families attending. Every character’s introduction, be it Peppa, George, Mummy, Daddy Pig or Mr. Bull, was welcomed with laughter, joyous excitement, and clapping.

The show included a lot of elements that not only added fun and colour to the act but also encouraged interaction with kids. For example, the narrator and Peppa got all the children present to stand up and jump so that Peppa has the biggest splash at the Champion Puddle Jumping Competition. Even the songs were catchy enough to get everyone to sing along. Kids of all ages, and even adults, were seen jumping, clapping, waving and singing along the entire show.

Peppa Pig’s Big Splash is definitely a must-watch if you are looking for a family-fun entertainment. At the end of the show, you are sure to fall in love with Peppa Pig and her adorable family. I know I did. For more details on the show, check peppapigliveus.com
