Top 5 Spring Celebrations

    Spring is finally in the air! After an unusually cold winter, it’s time to celebrate the warmer weather. Lucky for us, Vancouver knows how to celebrate spring in style! Check out the top five events that are sure to put a spring in your step over the next two months. 
     
    Vaisakhi Parade 
     
    Join in the celebrations of Vaisakhi Day at Surrey’s annual Vaisakhi Parade. Taking place on April 22, this is one of the largest Vaisakhi parades outside India. There’s something for everyone here – from live music, dances, floats, performers, and of course, amazing free food and drink for all! 
     
     
    Vancouver Celtic Festival
     
    Don some green and head out to Vancouver’s CelticFest – one of the biggest annual Celtic festival in Western Canada. Running from March 10 to 18, there are a number of events lined up from an Irish Sport Nights, to international Celtic music and dance performances at various locations in Vancouver.  And of course, the ever-popular St. Patrick’s Day parade, which takes place on March 13 this year. On March 17 and 18, visit the Celtic Village and Street Market at Robson Square. Filled with music, highland game performances, food and face painting, there’s no better way to immerse yourself in Celtic culture.     Vancouver Cherry Blossom Festival 
     
    Celebrate the season of renewal with the City of Vancouver’s annual Cherry Blossom Festival Running from March 30 to April 23, there are six major events to check out. Experience Japanese tea culture at the Sakura Days Japan Fair and try your hand at calligraphy, origami and other Japanese arts. Indulge in Asian-fusion food at Sakura Night, which celebrates seven of Vancouver’s top restaurants.  Enjoy a tranquil picnic lunch under the beautiful blossoms at Queen Elizabeth Park at the Big Picnic event.     Vancouver International Auto Show 
     
    Calling all car enthusiasts! The 97th Vancouver International Auto show runs from March 28 to April 2 this year at the Vancouver Convention Centre, which will have more than 450 customized vehicles on display. This annual show is the best to see exclusive debuts as well all the classic luxury brands, including Lamborghini, Ferrari, Rolls Royce, McLaren, and Porsche. Not to mention, two car giveaways!     Abbotsford Tulip Festival 
     
    If you still haven’t gotten your fill of springtime flowers, head to Abbotsford for their Tulip Festival – the only Tulip Festival in all of BC! A celebration of community, local agriculture and spring, the festival runs from April 10 to May 7 and features 10 acres of blooming tulips.
