$1000 A Week For 25 Years: No More Graveyard Shifts For Port Coquitlam’s ‘Set for Life Winner’ Kevin Bradley

Darpan News Desk, 19 Dec, 2019 08:12 PM

Port Coquitlam resident Kevin Bradley this week after he won $1,000 per week for 25 years in the Set for Life draw.

Kevin Bradley’s graveyard shifts spent cleaning pools and maintaining ice rinks are certainly numbered after scratching his way to a Set for Life prize of $1,000 a week for 25 years.

“Admittedly, I already had retirement on my mind, but winning Set for Life certainly solidifies it now,” says Bradley, who has worked for a Lower Mainland municipality for the past 30 years “This allows me to enjoy the rest of my life, help my kids, and maybe get in a bit of travel as well.”

While most winners would break the news to their spouse at home, Bradley did something a little less conventional.

“I waited a few days before telling [my wife] at an IHOP,” he laughed. “She’s pretty busy with her work and has a lot on the go. So we decided to go to IHOP and I told her then … She thought I was kidding, but I told her ‘no, I’ve got the ticket at home.’”

While Bradley says most of the family knows about his big win, he will break the news to his second daughter who lives in Toronto this weekend.

“It’ll be a bit of a Christmas surprise for sure.”
