12 People Arrested On 'Outstanding Immigration Warrants,' London Police Say

Darpan News Desk The Canadian Press, 24 Jun, 2019 05:26 PM

LONDON, Ont. — Police in London, Ont., have arrested a dozen people on "outstanding immigration warrants" in a case that's been turned over to the Canada Border Services Agency.

Police say in a statement that officers responded to a call for service in a residential area of the city's north end Saturday evening.

After an initial investigation, the statement says officers determined that "several individuals in the residence were wanted on outstanding immigration warrants."

The statement says all of them were taken into custody without incident and the case was transferred to the CBSA.

In a phone interview, London police spokesman Const. Anthony McKelvey said 12 people were taken into custody, but declined to provide any further details.

The CBSA declined a request for an interview but promised to provide a statement, likely Monday morning.
