One man is in custody following a collision that sent two pedestrians to hospital yesterday afternoon.

On Thursday at 1:00 p.m., Surrey RCMP frontline officers, along with Surrey RCMP Traffic Services, the Criminal Collision Investigation Team (CCIT), and the Integrated Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Service (ICARS), responded to a report that two pedestrians were allegedly struck by a vehicle in an alleyway located in the 5900-block of 172 Street. 

The pedestrians, a 24-year-old man and a 24-year old woman, were transported to hospital with serious injuries. A suspect was arrested in the area shortly after the collision.

Nicholas Giles, 24, has been charged with two counts of aggravated assault and two counts of assault with a weapon. 

He has been remanded into custody until his next court appearance.
