32 Year Old Suspect Arrested For Property Theft In Kamloops City

The Canadian Press, 27 May, 2016 12:43 PM
A 32 year old man has been arrested after trying to evade the police.

At 5 am on May 25th Kamloops RCMP received numerous reports of a suspicious male carrying items near the riverbank behind Clifford Avenue on the North Shore.

Officers attended and located the male but when he saw the police, he dropped the items he was carrying and ran away from the area. Upon inspection, the officers found that some of the items were women’s personal effects and most likely stolen property.

One of the police officers was able to identify the fleeing suspect and knew him to have outstanding warrants for Possession of Stolen Property and Breach of an Undertaking.

After enquiries, RCMP were able to locate the male at a residence in the area where he was soon apprehended with the assistance of the Police Dog Service.

The suspect is currently being held at Kamloops RCMP to go before a judge for both his previous warrants and for the new charges of Possession of Stolen Property.
