There are 378 new cases of COVID-19 in BC for a total of 143,264 cases in BC. BC is now at 330 new cases a day for the 7 day average, up from 327 cases yesterday.

There are 3,543 active COVID-19 in the province. There are 286 people in hospital with COVID. There are 88 in ICU.

There are 7 new deaths in the province. There have been 1,690 COVID deaths in BC.

Indoor faith services can now start up again in BC with up to 50 people with detailed safety plans in place.

Overnight camps will be allowed in BC this summer with specific details and safety plans. This will start this summer.

BC has hit significant vaccine milestone. So far 3,032,811 doses of a COVID vaccine have been administered in BC. 156,730 are second doses. 65.8% of adults have received at least one dose.

British Columbia is moving COVID vaccine dose interval to 8 weeks, down from 13 weeks. Dr. Bonnie Henry says the booster dose is crucial and builds on anti-bodies. "It provides more durable protection."

About 400,000 people will get invites today to book.

Those at greatest risk will be at the top for dose 2 this includes seniors and those who are clinically extremely vulnerable. 

Province is going back into long term care and assisted living to provide second doses. This should be done in the next few weeks.

BC will provide Pfizer vaccine in second dose to those who received Moderna vaccine in first dose when Moderna is not available.
