  • 5 Punjabi men use turbans to come to the rescue of 2 men who fall into a river at Golden Ears Provincial Park

2 men are alive today all thanks to efforts of a group of 5 friends who were out for a hike.

A pair of men fell into the river after they slipped from a rock at Golden Ears Provincial Park. A nearby group informed the 5 men that they were not able to pull the men out of the water.

That is when 5 Punjabi men did some quick thinking on their feet and used their turbans by forming a rope and rescuing the men out of the water.

The video of the rescue has gone viral.

Arvindjit Singh and Kuljinder Kinda both walked about for a few minutes before they decided to use cloth to help the individuals who otherwise would have been swept away by the swift moving current of the water.

The International students are here from Punjab, India and were taught that humanity comes first a major tennant of Sikhism.

The friends say they weren't concerned for their saftey.

Pitt Meadows Search Rescue did make it but their help was not needed and praised the actions of the young men.
