52 Kilos Of Cocaine Seized At Ambassador Bridge In Windsor, Ont.: CBSA

WINDSOR, Ont. — Canada Border Services Agency says its officers have made a major cocaine bust at the Ambassador Bridge in Windsor, Ont.
 
CBSA says a commercial truck and trailer were sent for secondary examination where officers discovered 52 bricks of suspected cocaine inside three duffel bags and a tote located in the storage areas of the truck.
 
CBSA officers seized the suspected cocaine and arrested a 26-year-old Toronto man in the July 27 incident.
 
RCMP have charged Lavdrim Mehmeti with importing cocaine and possession of cocaine for the purpose of trafficking.
 
Mehmeti remains in custody and is scheduled to appear in court in Windsor on Aug. 4.
