As of Monday, March 14, 2022, 90.7% (4,523,071) of eligible people five and older in B.C. have received their first dose of COVID-19 vaccine and 86.8% (4,325,516) have received their second dose.

In addition, 93.4% (4,327,933) of eligible people 12 and older in B.C. have received their first dose of COVID-19 vaccine, 90.9% (4,213,393) received their second dose and 56.7% (2,626,013) have received a third dose.

Also, 93.7% (4,053,200) of all eligible adults in B.C. have received their first dose, 91.3% (3,949,742) received their second dose and 58.5% (2,531,338) have received a third dose.

Over a three-day period, B.C. is reporting 689 new cases of COVID-19, for a total of 352,728 cases in the province:

  • March 11-12: 280 new cases
  • March 12-13: 211 new cases
  • March 13-14: 198 new cases

Note: The numbers of new and total cases are provisional due to a delayed data refresh.

The new cases include:

  • Fraser Health: 213
  • Vancouver Coastal Health: 166
  • Interior Health: 150
  • Northern Health: 58
  • Island Health: 102
  • People who reside outside of Canada: zero

There are 359 individuals hospitalized with COVID-19 and 51 are in intensive care.

In the past 72 hours, 14 new deaths have been reported, for an overall total of 2,946.

Note: Three reported deaths have been removed from the total due to a data correction.

The new deaths include:

  • Fraser Health: seven
  • Vancouver Coastal Health: five
  • Interior Health: two

There have been no new health-care facility outbreaks. The outbreak at Mission Memorial Hospital (Fraser Health) has been declared over, for a total of 13 facilities with ongoing outbreaks, including:

  • long-term care:
    • Ponderosa, Hillside Village, Mission Creek Landing, Williams Lake Seniors Village (Interior Health)
    • Sidney Care Home, Selkirk Seniors Village, Berwick House Gordon Head, The Heights at Mt. View, Greenwoods, Parkwood Court, Luther Court and Yucalta Lodge (Island Health)
  • acute care:
    • none
  • assisted or independent living:
    • Fischer Place (Interior Health)

From March 4-10, people not fully vaccinated accounted for 17.3% of cases. From Feb. 25 to March 10, they accounted for 29.4% of hospitalizations.

Past week cases (March 4-10) - Total 2,023

  • Not vaccinated: 297 (14.7%)
  • Partially vaccinated: 53 (2.6%)
  • Fully vaccinated: 1,673 (82.7%)

Past two weeks cases hospitalized (Feb. 25 to March 10) - Total 381

  • Not vaccinated: 94 (24.7%)
  • Partially vaccinated: 18 (4.7%)
  • Fully vaccinated: 269 (70.6%)

Past week, cases per 100,000 population after adjusting for age (March 4-10)

  • Not vaccinated: 81.4
  • Partially vaccinated: 31.3
  • Fully vaccinated: 35.7

Past two weeks, cases hospitalized per 100,000 population after adjusting for age (Feb. 25 to March 10)

  • Not vaccinated: 27.9
  • Partially vaccinated: 17.0
  • Fully vaccinated: 5.7

Since December 2020, the Province has administered 11,416,368 doses of Pfizer-BioNTech, Moderna, AstraZeneca and Pfizer Pediatric COVID-19 vaccines.

Baby found safe after being abducted in stolen vehicle
At 9:20 a.m., a bystander located the vehicle abandoned with the baby still inside the vehicle in the 5900-block of 177B Street.  The baby was checked over by BC Emergency Health Services and was not physically injured. The family involved has been provided support through victim services.
